This commitment involved also taking part to a research project promoted by SolydEra, one of the world market leaders in the field of high-temperature SOFC technologies (SOFC = solid oxide fuel cells).

A new era for the production of green hydrogen

By 2030 the demand for hydrogen is forecast to double relative to the production capacity. SolydEra is able to produce hydrogen from renewable sources using SOFC technology. Fuel cells allow the separation of hydrogen from water with very high efficiency.

An unprecedented solution

Fratelli Poli has supported SolyERA in the development of a metal component essential to the proper functioning of the fuel cell system. Due to the high working temperatures (800°C) of fuel cells, a resistant, long-lasting, deep-drawn case is required. Fratelli Poli has identified, tested and deep drawn a material that had never been cold formed before.

To Fratelli Poli challenges are opportunities for growth and innovation. Cooperating with SolydERA, Fratelli Poli took on the challenge of finding new solutions in metal cold working.
